Frequently Asked Questions

  • A Lived-in home reflects the comfort of habitation rather than staged perfection. It is layered- carefully curated by blending stories and style to create a unique space that reflects the lives of those who live within its walls. A lived-in home cannot be broken down to the sum of its parts. It draws the eye and invites the sharing of stories, its style resonating with its visitors long after they have left.

  • Great spaces and big budgets don’t always go hand-in-hand. Some of the best design choices are born out of constraints- whether budgetary, spacial, or situational. I work with you to create a space that is unique to you and within your budget.

  • In short, my style is not your style. I work with you to create a home that is unique to YOU- one that is not governed by fleeting trends and cookie-cutter design. Not sure what your style is? Perfect! I have a process proven to help you define your unique personal style.

  • The first step is to answer some questions and book a 1 hour consultation with me in your space.

  • In order to best serve my clients, a one hour consultation is necessary in order to get to know you and your space. During our time together I cover an extensive questionnaire, take photos, and offer some initial thoughts/tips on the project. Next I independently create a personalized proposal based on the project for your review and consideration.

  • No. When I am working on a project, I am constantly scheming and sourcing, making time logging impossible. Upon an initial consultation, I prepare an individualized proposal based on your project’s scale, scope, and sequence. This flat-fee structure provides full transparency and clarity on the cost of design services.  You can learn more about the ways to engage my services here.

  • The client is responsible for all purchases and payments to vendors and tradespeople.

  • Absolutely! I love taking what was once a utilitarian, overlooked commercial space and making it beautiful without compromising form or function. To date I have turned a historic home building into a High School campus, designed a primary care physician office, and worked on a full office renovation for an engineering firm.

  • The earlier the better! There are a myriad of things to consider at the onset of the planning process for a renovation/new build. Working with me from the beginning often saves you time, money, and headaches by avoiding costly mistakes, changes, and delays.
